Medina Healthcare Fund
The Medina Healthcare Fund was established in 2003 exclusively for charitable, scientific and educational purposes, to promote healthcare in Hondo and Medina County, Texas. The Fund’s goal is to enable the continuation of services at Medina Regional Hospital. Thanks to the concerted efforts of the volunteer Board of Directors, and a tremendous amount of community support, the Fund has been successful in contributing over $1,000,000 to the hospital for capital equipment. The support from the community has allowed the Fund to receive matching grants from several area and regional foundations over the years to reach this milestone.
In April 2009, the Medina Healthcare Fund had it's most successful fundraiser to date, the 2009 Concert in the Country featuring Gabe Garcia at the Hofmann Ranch in Castroville. This event raised over $58,000, which will fund additional equipment for Medina Regional Hospital. Our next fundraiser will be the Annual Radiothon with Hondo's KCWM Am-1460 radio station in November 2009. All contributions, including memorials and honorariums to the Medina Healthcare Fund are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Memorials and honorariums are acknowledged by mail with a card to the donor, and a card to the family of the deceased for memorials, or the honoree for honorariums.
