The IT Director is responsible for overseeing and managing the Information Technology department and ensuring that our health system operational umbrella, which includes a 25 bed hospital and 3 multi-provider affiliated primary care clinics, has technology systems that are reliable, up-to-date, and that meet the operational demands of a 24/7 integrated healthcare system. The IT Director will work closely with senior management to develop technology policy and strategy to be administered throughout the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees IT operations
  • Leads team of IT staff
  • Work with senior management to design an IT strategy that supports overall system strategy
  • Analyzes business requirements for IT needs and systems
  • Communicates within IT team and across departments as needed
  • Works to increase user satisfaction
  • Manage & oversee all stages of the development cycle for new projects
  • Assesses need for new equipment and software
  • Identify, contract, evaluate, and hold accountable supporting vendors as required
  • Maintain existing systems and programs, ensuring that necessary maintenance & updates are completed
  • Stay up to date on security risks, manage annual security risk evaluation process, and ensure overall system security and integrity in the context of a 24/7 healthcare provider
  • Assess and maintain disaster recovery systems and strategy
  • Prepares progress and budget reports for administration
  • Hires new members of IT staff
  • Manages company help desk
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervises 1-4 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Associates required/ Bachelor preferred in information technology, information systems, computer science or related field (extensive experience in similar role would be considered in lieu of degree)
  • Minimum six years of experience working in IT operations
  • Minimum three years of experience overseeing IT teams and projects
  • Certification and continuing education preferred
