Description:

Assists in examination and treatment of patients under direction of Physician or mid-level provider by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Interviews patients and provides office duties such as vital sign measurement, pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height. All information, to include medical history, is recorded in patients' charts
 Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients
 Drapes patients with covering and positions instruments and equipment Hands instruments and materials to provider as directed
 Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials Calls medical facilities to schedule patients for tests
 Gives injections or treatments and timely logs this information as required
 Schedules appointments for ancillary services
 Maintains office and patient records
 Responsible for maintaining equipment logs
 Responsible for lab controls, in-house lab testing
 Manages inventory and proper handling of stocked medications
 Manages difficult or emotional customer situations and responds promptly to customer needs
 Understanding of computer software and general knowledge of an electronic medical record program
 Assists in all areas of the clinic as needed
 Other duties may be assigned

Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or GED, Medical Assistant certificate from college or technical school; Medical Assistant certification from the certifying institution accredited by the Medical Assistant program, Three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Medical Assistant Certification required and BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
