Some have wondered why change the name? The Hondo Hospital Authority Board of Directors voted on this name change in order to emphasize our commitment to providing quality health care to the entire Medina County region.

What a difference the last two years have made at Medina Regional Hospital. We are now fully occupying all the new and newly remodeled spaces that were a part of our construction project. On February 20, 2009, we celebrated five years of planning, designing and construction as we dedicated Medina Regional Hospital to the service of our patients and their families.

MRH offers a wide range of services from 24-hour emergency care and general acute care to three Rural Health Clinics in Hondo, Devine and Castroville for primary and preventative care. The professional, friendly staff is here to provide top-notch healthcare in a convenient and caring atmosphere.

Services available include general acute care, obstetric services with family-oriented birthing rooms, inpatient and outpatient surgery, and diagnostic services such as radiology, ultrasound, mammography, bone density testing, CAT scan and MRI; clinical laboratory services, cardiac stress testing, physical therapy and speech therapy.
