Cardiology Now Available at the Medical Clinic in Devine.

Janice Simons, CEO of Medina Healthcare System, is pleased to announce the addition of two cardiology specialists to the Medical Clinic of Devine. "We are pleased to bring the services of the South Texas Cardiology Institute to Medina County. Dr. Roger Muse and Dr. Michael Gonzales are both board certified cardiologists who specialize in the treatment of heart and vascular diseases." The physicians will be in Devine monthly, with appointments available this month on May 24th.

After receiving his medical degree from the University of Kansas in Kansas City, Kansas, Dr. Muse joined the Air Force where he completed his residency in internal medicine at Wrigth-Patterson AFB UFAF Medical Center in Ohio. He later completed his fellowships in cardiology and clinical cardiac electrophysiology at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center at Lackland AFB in San Antonio.

Dr. Muse says “My staff and I strive to make the clinic visit a personal and relaxed experience for our patients.” He is a self-professed “blue-collar boy” and is proud to be very productive at work and still have time to spend with his family after hours.

Dr. Michael Gonzales was born in Beeville and now resides in San Antonio. He received his medical degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. He also completed his residency in internal medicine at UTMB Galveston and his fellowship in cardiology at the University of Missouri-Kansas City with the Mid America Heart Institute. He has been in practice with the South Texas Cardiology Institute since completing his cardiology fellowship.

Dr. Gonzales says “The best days are when I see patients who have recovered from an illness and are so appreciate of the time and effort I took when they were so sick. This revives my passion to provide quality care to those in need of help.” When he’s not seeing patients, Dr. Gonzales enjoys outdoor sports and collecting and restoring vintage muscle cars.
