Medina Healthcare Fund
The Medina Healthcare Fund was established on June 6, 2003 as a 501(c)3 organization to promote healthcare in Hondo and Medina County. Funds raised by the organization have been used to pay for renovations to existing healthcare facilities, new building projects, equipment purchases, programs and services at Medina Regional Hospital and its affiliated clinics, as deemed appropriate by the Board of Directors of the Medina Healthcare Fund. The Board consists of volunteers from Hondo, Devine, Castroville and D’Hanis who are dedicated to raising the funds needed to maintain a strong healthcare system for their communities.
Donations can be mailed to: Medina Healthcare Fund, 3100 Ave. E, Hondo, Texas 78861 or donate online here.
Memorials and honorariums are a great way to remember a loved one and support quality healthcare in the community. Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
Gifts of $100 or more are recognized on the donor tree in the hospital lobby.
To date over $2.3 million has been contributed to Medina Regional Hospital for capital projects to keep important equipment such as a 64-slice CT scanner, digital mammography, laboratory, imaging and surgical equipment up to date. The Medina Healthcare Fund has been successful in obtaining grant funding from local and regional foundations to match the funds raised locally. The generosity of the community has helped raise the quality of care available at Medina Regional Hospital, resulting in numerous awards for quality of care, and recognition by national hospital regulatory agencies for high standards of patient care and satisfaction. The residents of Medina and surrounding counties benefit from having a strong, viable hospital that provides a variety of healthcare services locally, and contributes to economic development within the county.
