Hospital news

At Medina Regional Hospital, we offer 24 hour skilled nursing care plus the benefit of rehabilitation therapies to help patients transition to home or long term care. Our skilled nursing program is a bridge from the hospital to home. This special time allows the patient time to heal before returning to everyday life.

Our main purpose is to provide you the necessary care through a collaborative team approach, facilitating therapists and skilled nursing to obtain the optimal outcome possible.

Our compassionate nurses and support personal work under the supervision of a physician to determine the best treatment plan for each patient. We will work with your physician to define your needs and make sure that you are receiving the appropriate level of care.

How Do You Qualify

Skilled nursing and skilled rehabilitation services are often covered by Medicare, Medicaid and most private insurance plans. A consecutive 3-day, acute level of care hospital stay is required for the skilled nursing program. The patient must require skilled nursing or skilled rehabilitation services. Insurance benefits will be verified prior to admission.

Examples of Skilled Care include:

  • Post-stroke therapy. Stroke patients may transfer from acute care to skilled nursing care in order to receive physical and speech therapy after three days in an acute care setting.
  • Post acute IV therapy. Patients who have received three days of acute care and now require long-term skilled nursing services associated with the administration of IV medications.
